but by the time we had reached the top of the hill, on our way to scrabble, it had cleared and the turbines were in view in the distance.
St Adjutory.
French scrabble. I actually won a game today!!!!
and last but not least tonight's moon.
I will catch up with comments tomorrow. Did not have a good night last night and I am very tired.
What a great shot of that lizard catching some sun atop the log. I love your moon shot too. Sky gazing was a favourite past time as a kid - I used to live out in the countryside where there was no interference from city lights so we really got great views.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment, I agree sky gazing is interesting and living in the country we certainly do not get city light interference. There is much to see in both daylight and at night. Have a good day Diane
DeleteA fun post, lovely photos always. I love playing scrabble but would not do very well in French. It would be a great way to learn the language though :)
ReplyDeleteMy French is dreadful but playing scrabble is simpler than you might think. 45% of words are the same in English, pronunciation though is different. Also each French verb has 37 different endings which I admit to being very confused over. But so often I can look at the letters and think that it looks French and even if I do not know the meaning it invariable is!!!!!!! It does not help me to learn French though!! Take care Diane
DeleteThat is very interesting, I would be confused about everything :)
DeleteLovely photos of the butterfly. I love scrabble but have not played for a long time.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy, I would find playing scrabble in English so much easier but I have never actually played English scrabble! Have a happy day Diane
DeleteLovely macros Diane. I think I have it clear now, gosh you were a lot longer in Africa than me, I was there for seventeen wonderful years. I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad night, hope you are feeling much better by now ✨
ReplyDeleteSleeping badly seems to be a habit I got from my mother!! Nowadays though I also have a problem with my back which always seems worse at night so I just have to put up with it. I was 25 years in Rhodesia and 25 years in South Africa. Have a good day Diane
DeleteLovely...
ReplyDeleteTopped with a shot of the beautiful nearly Full Harvest Moon.
Sorry you didn't sleep well. Get your rest, that is more important than blogging. :-)
Thanks Luna, the moon shot was lucky as we have had full cloud cover for days now! My blog is struggling at present what with our rubbish connection and time in the garden and kitchen. I waste so much time with the computer not doing what I want and then the connection keeps going!! We are hoping the technician is going to come and sort it out but I will believe it all when things happen.
DeleteThe profusion of butterflies at this time of year is quite wonderful. We have been raising monarchs this year and except one to emerge from the chrysalis today. The two little girls next door (who call us grandpa and grandma) are very excited! They made us promise not to release it until they get home from school if it appears before they arrive.
ReplyDeleteThat is fun raising butterflies and great for your neighbours children to see the life cycle. I remember we did that at school one year in Rhodesian days. Take care. Cheers Diane
DeleteBeautiful photos, Diane! I love Scrabble, and because I am a good speller I am very good at it. I must admit, though, even though I am fluent in French I have never played it in French. :)
ReplyDeleteLinda i as sure if I can play it in French you would be brilliant. The main part is remembering all the possible different endings on verbs which help no end. For me that is very difficult!! Hope all is going well for you Diane
DeleteI love your critter pics. Loving that moon pic also. My kids and I used to play Scrabble, so much fun.
ReplyDeleteI have never played scrabble in English, I am sure I would find it so much easier than I do in French :-))) Lucky moon shot as we have had so much cloud recently!! Take care Diane
DeleteBeautiful photos. Its wonderful that you are able to play French scrabble, well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks KIM. Not wonderful at all just a lot of luck involved with me!!! keep well Diane
Deleteall yours pictures always are beautiful Diane!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Gloria, comment appreciated. Take care Diane
DeleteThe turbines look so out of place. Congrats on your Scrabble win.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Turbines are my pet hate, they look awful, they kill birds and they are not that effective!!! Have a good day Diane
DeleteHi Diane , I am going through all your posts .. How FAB you won a game of French scrabble ,, woo hoo , well done xoxo
ReplyDeleteAnne it is easy if one gets the right letters and I can find easy words, trouble is it does not often happen!!!
DeleteTake care, Cheers Diane xox
