21/10/2018 Trying to catch up but it will be slow!!!!

Maximum temperature today 21C, minimum 9C.  Dry; 16km/h North-easterly winds with up to 36 km/h gusts.  It gets much colder tomorrow!!!!

I have the computer back with a new hard drive, but I am still trying to load programmes and get myself back to (sort of) where I was before the last hard drive crashed out totally leaving me with nothing.  I have lost all the early October photos which I had not backed up!  Also, all the photos of our holiday last month that I had edited are gone, but I have the originals so I will have to start all over again (sigh).  I will get back to comments I hope in a few days!

Cattle at the special farmers market yesterday in Chasseneuil...

Horses and donkeys...

a young foal...

Horse at work...

taking children (and some adults) for a ride....

Many different tractors and odd bits around...

An apple farmer, I think they were also sampling apple juice.

Back home the lizards have not hibernated yet...

Sparrows taking a bath...

Watch out I am taking a dive.

Female house sparrow (Passer domesticus).

Choisya ternata.

Bees on the cosmos...

also hoverflies.

Pampas and cosmos flowers.

Holly.

Kalanchoe

Climbing rose.

  1. Computers, computers, computers! Can you imagine that there was a time when we lived perfectly well without them?

    1. Yes I can imagine, and I think life was far easier then when we did not know about them 😊 Take care Diane

  2. So glad to hear your got a new hard drive. Sorry that you will have a lot more work to do but you are doing much better than I if you generally back up your files. I know I should but never do. I started out backing things up on disks but they would usually get corrupted so I just gave up and I don't like to put stuff in the cloud. Anyway, you have a lot of beautiful animal, bird and insect photos today. Just spectacular. I do hope Nigel is recovering too from his flu/cold and that he is feeling much better being at home and hopefully getting some much needed rest. Have a wonderful Sunday Diane.

    1. I used to use discs long ago for back up but now I use a spare hard drive. So much easier and I hope that does not crash as well!!!
Nigel is still not feeling well though slightly better, I think these things take longer the older we get!!
      Have a good week Diane

    1. Thanks Noushka, I feel sorry for myself, but I am also happy that it was only one month that I had not backed up the edited versions except for October which I lost completly, thankfully no major photos. There was a mule there with even longer ears but it was a bit dark so I abandoned it.
Have a good week, warm hugs Diane

  7. Great photos, Diane! I esp like the cows, but I've never seen them at a farmers' market around here. I grew up on our farm in Ohio and them and the tractors and all brought back a lot of memories. The cosmos are gorgeous, my fave flower in the garden and the holly is beautiful. Here's to a good week your way!

    1. Pam many of my years was spent on a farm and I ma thankful we still live in farming country. The cosmos are superb this year. They were very tall and the strong winds blew the over but they are still flowering profusely. Hope your week is a good one Diane

  8. I experienced a computer hard disk crash once and if not for the computer technician, I would have lost all the photos. He managed to retrieve them though it took him a long time. Good to have you back again. I am enjoying all your photos.

  9. Beautiful series here Diane, farmers markets are fun. So sorry to hear about your computer problems, sometimes I wonder if computers are worth the aggravation they cause us. Sorry to hear your husband is not feeling well, what did the doc say, hopefully he'll be feeling tip top soon ✨
