Driving to Soyaux yesterday past fields of sunflowers.
Seemed that all had been pretty much cleared by the time we got there!

Crossing over La Touvre river.
Love this roundabout in Soyaux where they have restored part of an old building in the centre.
Hay on the move.
Only 3 trains a day on this track between Angouleme and Limoges so this is a rare occasion to be stopped on the road.
Californian poppy
Small copper (Lycaena phlaeas)
Sweet potato flower with a fly looking out.
Graphosoma lineatum.
A small hopper on the calendula...
and two what I think are shield bugs.
Hi Diane, the field of sunflowers remind me of my trips through the Orange Free State. All your photos are stunning, especially the flowers and bugs. Kim

DeleteThanks for taking us along with you.. the sunflower fields and bridge are fabulous, your macros marvelous as always. Imagine having to stop for the train when there are only three trains a day, that's timing for you 😀😀 happy Sunday Diane ✨
ReplyDeleteHa ha it is very seldom we catch that train and as it is usually too early, too late or lunchtime. This time we had spent so much time in and out of Drs, we were too late!!! France is beautiful it is not hard taking photos here :-))) Guess your Sunday is almost over so have a great week. Diane

What a wonderful and prolific range of insects.
ReplyDeleteNote that I seldom get near to spiders though, not my favourite! Keep well Diane
DeleteSo much contrasts with the lovely old stonework and the sleek looking train. That hay truck looks like it could just fall over. As always, I love your macro shots.
ReplyDeleteAt least the hay is strapped down, the farmers with tractor and trailer do not bother, sure it is illegal but...... Diane
