18/10/2017 Just around the garden

Maximum temperature 24C, minimum 15C.  8 km/h SE winds, 28 km/h gusts. Dry so far but rain forecast for later.
Speckled wood ( Pararge aegeria)

Our garden bench.

Zinnia.

Our neighbours Sumac tree.  Great colours, but we spend our life killing all the young trees that come up all over our lawn!!!!!  Grrrrrr.

Christmas cactus.

The only photogenic bird around today!!  Checking the sky here for maybe sparrow hawks...

taking a drink...

but preferring the stone ashtray to take a bath...

as above...

That feels better 😉

  5. Hello dear Diane,
Many thanks for king comment and concern!
Don't worry I am not as much at risk when "shooting" the deer as they are...
I can't believe how many were culled again but those bl.... hunters this time round... Very sad.
Your garden must be such a beauty from what I see in your beautiful photos!!!
I love the sumac tree especially the fall, what magnificent colors!
Warm hugs and take care :)

    1. Just stay safe and keep a watch out. I hate it when all the sanglier around here are shot but I also understand that we have so many here and they do a lot of damage to the crops. I am sure though the deer do little damage and they also get shot as well :-(((( Take care of that rib !!!! Very gentle hugs Diane

  6. Amazed at how many flowers you guys still have in bloom....but I really should not be. Been a strange yr. I have seen things in bloom around the neighborhood that usually bloom in the spring. Things are so messed up. I bet you make a great pumpkin bread. I love it. So good with coffee in the morning.

    1. Think the plants are totally confused by the warm spell we have just had!!! If we get heavy frosts now it is going to do a lot of damage. I see buds on shrubs that should be waiting for spring!!!!! Take care Diane

    1. We do not often use that bench, not sure why not except it is in the shade and if the sun is shining we pick a sunny spot. Diane
