Arrival at Domaine des Etangs...
The largest 5 star resort in mainland France, with a a fully renovated 11th century château.
If you want to read more about it see here....
it expands over 1000 hectares of protected natural surroundings, a mixture of forests, grassland and ponds....
I presume this is meant to represent a family looking across the lake at the cattle beyond...
Looking upwards at one of the wonderful old trees...
A different view of the lake and grounds....
and what appears to be a religious cross.
If you would like to stay here, and you have to ask the price, then you can't afford it!
We went there to book for a special dinner coming up next month.
Back home, toadstools in the garden, maybe where the faeries live 😉
Zinnias still opening but it looks like the cold arrives tomorrow so......
Another zinnia well past its best, but the bumblebee seems happy enough.
Those old churches are so lovely. All the scenery you shared is magnificent.
ReplyDeleteEmma this is not a church but a chateau turned into a 5* hotel. It is beautiful though with amazing countryside around it. Hope your weekend is a good one Diane
DeleteThat place looks great but out of my reach! Beautiful photos, Diane.
ReplyDeleteCertainly out of or reach as well but we plan to to have one special dinner there which is not outrageously priced. Hope your weekend is a good one, Diane
DeleteWhat a beautiful chateau, Diane. And how pretty zinias! Fabulous photos once again, Diane! Kisses, my friend.
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful Mia and just walking the grounds is amazing. Take care and have a good weekend Diane
DeleteOh my, Diane, such a beautiful place; the buildings and scenery!
ReplyDeleteWe had cooler weather this morning also. :)
xoxo
It is pretty chilly here today, a sudden serious change!! It is a beautiful place with amazing scenery. Hope your weekend is good Diane
DeleteOh my goodness. I want to stay here! The building, the grounds, they're all so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI would love one night there for the experience but way out of our price range sadly. We will make do with a lunch there next month instead :-) Cheers Diane
DeletePretty darn fancy. Guess dinner will have to do.
ReplyDeleteHa ha a meal is about our limit and not a ridiculous price. Staying there is way out of our price range! Keep well Diane
DeleteThank you for sharing these pretty photos Diane, always enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteThanks Denise, it is a pleasure. Have a great weekend Diane
DeleteI doubt that I am ever going to get on close terms with a five star resort. Maybe I could offer to do a bird survey in exhange for some gourmet toast or something!
ReplyDeleteDavid staying there is one thing, but eating is not outrageous, though I agree more that we pay at the cheap restaurants. A three course meal is €35 but then wine of course is extra :-) I think this is quite a fair price, of course you can go far more expensive than this if you want!! Hope you have a good weekend Diane
DeleteHi Diane. Stunning photos of really beautiful venues. You are surrounded by beauty. Have a great weekend. Kim xx
ReplyDeleteKim we are surrounded by beauty I agree and we keep finding new places. Hope you have a dry and sunny weekend. Keep well Diane
DeleteIt is raining and winds at gale force here at the moment Diane.
ReplyDeleteOh no, stay safe, your weather is not good at the moment. Thinking of you. Diane
DeleteGreat pics...loving the pic of the cross, not so keen on the family looking across the water.
ReplyDeleteMatter of choice :-) I thought the family quite cute. Have a great day Diane
