Just as we pulled out of our road we were met with this and had to reverse back !!!! Think it was heading up the road to the next hamlet where they were harvesting corn.
First stop was Chasseneuil, a small job to do here....
We then drove through Montemboeuf which you can see in the distance, the sun was in my eyes, but you can see how busy the traffic was in the sky was with vapour trails everywhere.
I tried to pick up some autumn colours here, but still I had competition from the sun!
Man at work.
Arrival at Busserolles, not sure what the flags were up for...
More on the town here when we visited earlier this year.
Inside the restaurant, we would have liked to have sat outside but there was no room...
I quite liked the pictures of musical instruments - different.
Buffet starter which had some delicious choices...
I had a perfectly cooked very rare steak that melted in my mouth, Nigel had chicken which he said was excellent, he had a huge helping but the photo was not very good.
Then came the cheese board with French bread of course...
Followed by dessert - Nigel had cheesecake and I had a chocolate pudding with ice cream also not a good photo!
Great value for money. Four courses, wine and coffee came to €34 for the two of us. We will return 😉 Highly recommended but best to book, people were being turned away!
On the way home we stopped at a chateau and I got a good series of photos, but as nothing much planned for tomorrow, I will take you for a short walk in the area then.
Beautiful skies, Diane, and yes quite busy!
ReplyDeleteYour food looks divine! I could go for some cheesecake about now. :)
xoxo
My chocolate dessert was also superb :-) We were amazed at the number of vapour trails everywhere! Enjoy your day Diane
DeleteA very pretty drive through town and what a wonderful restaurant, and the meals looked sumptuous!
ReplyDeleteIt was a very yummy meal, we will definitely return :-) Have a good day Diane.
DeleteAnother great looking meat at great value, Diane.
ReplyDeleteExcellent value, there are some great inexpensive paces around in France. Take care Diane
DeleteEven though you were shooting into the light the shots still turned out well - you can literally see the sun's "rays" shining down. Mmm... I'd order cheesecake too ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love cheese cake but decided to have different to Nigel to see the dishes. I was not disappointed my pud was also delicious. Cheers Diane
DeleteLooks like a beautiful day to be out and about. So pretty....okay, explain what all is on that first plate. Those taters look great also.
ReplyDeletePam it was a little each of the things I liked best but there was masses of other things as well. My plate was various cold meats including a slice of pork pie, mushrooms in sauce, spicy couscous, pasta with bacon pieces and whole prawns. It was all very good. Enjoy your day Diane
DeleteAnother nice trip. I had a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteGlad about that, I love virtual tours with people :-) Take care Diane
DeleteI want to come and live with you. It seems that about every second post you are going out for one of these lunches that are in fact gargantuan feasts! Maybe I can be your chauffeur and you will tell the people to feed the staff. I will sit quietly and respectfully at a distant table gorging on cheese! I should mention by the way that after all the wine I plan to drink Nigel will have to be chauffeur on the return trip!
ReplyDeleteWe both had a good laugh over your comment. There are some great places to eat here at reasonable prices. On these days we only have one meal a day!! Take care Diane
DeleteThat lunch looks marvellous, Diane, and so very reasonably priced too!
ReplyDeleteWith my very best wishes - - - Richard
Some great places around us to eat, another reason for you to travel :-)))) Hope that all is well, cheers Diane
DeleteBeautiful photos from your drive. Your food sure look delicious!
ReplyDeleteSo very different to your meals! Hope you have a fab day, Diane
DeleteI think I would back up tough I met that machine on the road. Thanks for the drive through rural France. The lunch looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteWe did just that, far too big to argue with!!! The lunch was delicious :-) T'other Diane
DeleteYummy looking as usual!
ReplyDeleteMy, France is practicing "war games in the sky" too! :-) I see them here. And that is what I call them. I consider them good news! It shows our military and government, are keeping prepared. Just in case. I like to be prepared.
Luna Crone
Don't think this was military it looked like small planes and passenger planes that we could see !
DeleteIt was a delicious meal :-)
Enjoy your day, Diane
Your roads are way to narrow for those large farm machines. Good thing there isn't as much traffic on your roads as in the sky. Lunch looks divine.
ReplyDeleteThe main problem is that most roads have ditches on either side so it is difficult to get out of the way!!! Diane
