Autumn colours in the next hamlet to us...
and a little further down the road.
The shop windows in Intermarche supermarket...
as above.
Back home in the garden, a wet calendula...
and berries on the Cotoneaster.
'Our' Red-legged partridge (Alectoris rufa) is still around...
I first saw it on 8 November and it has been around ever since. It waits under the cherry tree in the mornings for me to go out and feed the birds. What a pleasure.
Oh gee, the colours of the leaves are stunning aren't they?
ReplyDeleteAutumn is a beautiful month, I just do not like the weather!! Keep well, cheers Diane
DeleteI am not a big fan of the cold. I have been happily making my way around the equator for the past 20 years.
DeleteBeautiful photos Diane. It's wonderful to see your fall colours.
ReplyDeleteThe trees are beautiful but the leaves will be gone in a cople of days :-( Getting colder! Keep warm Diane
DeleteYou are still enjoying the autumn colours. Love the wet calendula and the red legged partridge. Keep warm.
ReplyDeleteThink all the leaves will be gone next week, the weather is changing! I am trying to keep warm!! Take care Diane
DeleteI love your partridge! What a looker.

It is such a pleasure to see it daily in the garden, long may it last :-) Keep well Diane
DeleteYour partridge has beautiful feather patterns Diane. That's a lot of rain! Hopefully the skies will be blue tomorrow so you can take us on a bit of a drive 😉 Happy Sunday.
ReplyDeleteSadly we cancelled today's drive because of the weather and although we have to go out several times in the next few days it looks like continual rain!! (sigh). You must be almost into next week so have a happy week. Diaane
DeleteSo many beautiful colors! The flowers are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, Diane.
xoxo
Thanks Sally have a great Sunday, Diane xx
DeleteGood morning my Little Feint of Heart African Expat: We are visiting my daughter in Ottawa. This morning the temperature was minus twenty, but bright, sunny and windless. We all went for a long walk through the woods with the dog. I thought of you and how much you would have enjoyed being with us! Better hop in a plane and get over here. There's lots of winter left!
ReplyDeleteSunny and windless would still not have got me out of the house unless the heating in the house did not work!! I would have not even have though about going outside!!!! Anything under 10C is cold!!! Keep warm and enjoy if possible! Diane
DeleteHi Diane,
ReplyDeleteAbout the bird sanctuary, I was not thinking of Mazères, too far from where you are.
I had in mind le Teich at Arcachon, much closer to you.
That first photo is brilliant, I love trees and these oaks seem to display their grandeur before falling into their winter lethargy!
And finally, that partridge is really beautiful, I suspect though it was raised in captivity and released by hunters...
Keep well warm hugs, you must getting ready...
Our oak is always the last tree in the garden to drop its leaves and it is always the last to sprout again in spring! Just hate this weather and it is going to get a lot colder yet!! Warm hugs Diane
DeleteThe calendula is stunning with the water droplets.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynda a cheerful faceon a cold wet day. Cheers Diane
DeleteYou still have leaves! Love the colours of the partridge!
ReplyDeleteThere are still a few around but they are vanishing fast! Take care and keep warm Diane
DeleteLooks like fall is trying to hang on a little longer yet winter is on the way. And you even have a partridge, just need a pear tree. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe leaves are disapperaing fast now. The partridge seems to fancy our fir tree, maybe 'cause we do not have a pear tree 😉 Take care Diane
DeleteA pretty series of photos Diane, loved the partridge. They are always such an interesting looking bird.
ReplyDeleteIt has been a delight to see the partridge in the garden. Hope all is well Diane.
DeleteGreat photos, Diane! The partridge is stately looking for sure! Take care
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam. I am glad that the Patridge has sense to stay in our garden. Hopefully it will remain untill the hunting season is over ! Hope all is well Diane
DeleteThe red legged partridge is adorable.
ReplyDeleteIt is so good to see it out in the garden each day 😉 Keep well Diane
DeleteLovely pictures! Great autumn colors and the winter windows are fun to see!
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda, hope that all is well with you, Diane
DeleteNever seen a partridge. Nice!!! Thanks for sharing. How are you now? xxx (and high 5 from Ralph)
ReplyDeleteThey are very pretty birds and we have so enjoyed seeing him regularly. Busy packing ready to go to the UK on Monday!!! High 5 back to Ralph, I will try to send a PC from the UK. Keep well and hope you and the family have a great Christmas, Diane
Deletebeautiful autumn colors, and lovely berries.
ReplyDeletehave a great day
Thanks for the visit and the comment. Have a great week Diane
DeleteI love the pretty yellow flower. It look similar to cosmos over here.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit and the comment. We have cosmos here but nothing like that, strange. Have a good week Diane
DeleteSuper images, Diane, and I'm delighted to see that your Red-legged Partridge is still with you. Best wishes - - - Richard
ReplyDeleteRichard I am also delighted that it is still with us. I have a French neighbour coming in to feed the birds while we are away, but probably only every other day. He knows about the Partrige (and is not a hunter!) so I hope it hangs around for a bit longer yet. Cheers Diane
