Taking the back roads to Limoges, the trees are mostly still bare.
Passing a lake near Rochechouart.
I just liked the view!
Arriving at Limoges. We do not visit unless we have to, we stick to the country!
Sunset at home.
The lambs in the small field on the other side of the fence from our Veggie garden...
These are the younger ones.
Full of bounce...
At the milk bar...
as above.
So very tired.
Common crane (Grus grus) returning to the North and migrating over France...
we are lucky enough to be living under their flight path...
and we have seen several thousand in the last few days.
I have updated my bird blog HERE.
Happy Valentine's Day, Diane. Be sure to have a smoochy moment with the Dashing Nigel, Gallant Knight of England's Green and Pleasant Land, who swept into Africa, and with the merest glimpe of your lithe and lovely form became besotted for all time! Raise a glass of wine too. Little did you know way back then you would be doing it in France. Drinking wine, that is!
ReplyDeleteLOL Thanks David 🍷 Cheers Diane
DeleteWe keep to the country as much as possible too. It sounds like spring is on the horizon for you, more than just on the calendar.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are right but I am sure the cold will return, it is not unknown to have a frost in May!!! Keep warm Diane
DeleteWow! Sheep again!!!!!!! Oh, I love your photos, Diane. Kisses, my friend.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard not to take photos of them when they are so close 😊 Keep well Diane
DeleteThe lambs are adorable Diane, a sure fire sign of spring oui? The flight path of migrating birds has always fascinated me, how they have used the same path forever is astounding! Lovely to hear you will have a warmer week ahead, enjoy every minute ✨
ReplyDeleteP.s. the cough hasn't really ever left, I'm seeing a specialist on Tuesday, should be interesting! How about you, has your cough completely gone now?
We are so lucky to be on the flight path and we see (and hear) them every spring and autumn. Looking forward to the next few days and some sunshine I have already had two good days in the garden. Good luck for Tuesday. I have seen several specialists along the way with only a slight degree of improvement. My cough started a couple of weeks after I had my first bout of pneumonia in 2014 so I am now in my 15th year of it. At the present it is not too bad, but it certainly is still around and I had a bad coughing fit this morning!! Take care and good luck, Diane
DeleteHappy Valentine's Day to you and Nigel, Diane.
ReplyDeleteI love your photo's - that one of the city - wow! I'm like you in being happier in the country. :)
xoxo
Thanks Sally and hope you had a good day. I hate cities and would be very happy if I never saw another one but sometimes it is a must. Keep well, Diane xx
DeleteBeautiful country view. Cute little lambs. Great shot of the flying cranes.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy, I am so enjoying the lambs at the moment 🐑 Keep well Diane
DeleteI am so envious of the birds. To catch a wind current and soar on it seems to be the ultimate freedom.
ReplyDeleteI have alwasy said if I come back to this earth I want to come back as a Peregine falcon 🦅 Keep well Diane
DeleteLove the lambs. Diane! I grew up on a farm in Ohio and we had sheep, and made pets of a couple of lambs whose mother ignored. They're friendly and cute. All your photos are great, magnificent cranes! Happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteMany years ago I was married to a farmer, and yes we also bottle fed and raised lambs that had Mother problems. They really are cute. Keep well and have a good weekend we are nearly there. Diane
DeleteWow those migrating cranes are beautiful. It must be amazing to see so many. Enjoyed your drive to town.
ReplyDeleteDiane they are wonderful to watch and they are really noisy while flying. If it was not for all the noise they make I would problably often miss them. Hope all is well over there, have a good weekend, t'other Diane
DeleteAww the lambs are just so cute. They look so happy frolicking around the field.
ReplyDeleteThey are such fun to watch. Cheers Diane
DeleteBeautiful, beauiful, beaautiful: de lambs and the grus grus.
ReplyDeleteThanks Aritha. Have a good Sunday. Diane
DeleteBeautiful sunset photo! The lamb shots are adorable.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam, hope you have a good Sunday.
DeleteThe lambs are so sweet. Enjoy your blue skies.

Oh I am enjoying the blue skies, long may they last ;-) Diane
DeleteVery pretty views on your drive. The lambs are adorable, and the cranes in flight a wonderful sight I'm sure. Also loved those sunset shots. Thanks Diane, wishing you a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteWe are so lucky to be right in the path of the crane migration, they were overhead again today. Keep well Diane
DeleteOne of things I like about winter is seeing the skeletal shape of the leafless trees. Sometimes we just have to go to the city but I prefer the cute little lambs. Cranes headed north is truly a sign of spring.
ReplyDeleteGaelyn I really hate cities, but as you say, sometimes you have to go for one thing or another. The lambs are just too gorgeous, but they are growing up fast and being moved into larger fields whee it is more difficult for me to take photos of them. Stil a few to be born though. Happy week, Diane
