Maximum temperature today 21C, minimum 9C. Rain measured this morning 35mm. 25km/h North-westerly winds with gusts up to 51 km/h. Very high winds expected tomorrow!
Just before we left home - I took this photo the evening before.
Over the neighbour's rooftop.
Driving to the Dordogne.
We had to drive to Souillac the following day to deliver Nigel's bike which he had sold, the weather was awful, but I just liked this distorted shot of driving through Beynac et Cazenac in the pouring rain.
The following insects and frog are all in the Dordogne, bee on an unknown shrub.
Bumblebee, on an unknown wildflower...
As above.
A little 'hopper' on a buttercup.
Common blue butterfly (Polyommatus icarus) female...
As above.
Common blue butterfly (Polyommatus icarus) male...
As above.
A beetle that I thought to be a chafer beetle but the antennae are too long I think!
Possibly a Pool Frog (Pelophylax lessonae).
There are still a lot of photos to edit, the garden is taking up much of my time. For those of you who always ask to see the inside of churches, there are quite a lot of those as well!!

I found the distorted picture to be fascinating. Just how distorted is it?
ReplyDeleteIf you straighten all the walls roofs and veranda it might give you some idea! I was also fascinated by it. Hope you are well Diane
DeleteSuch a great distorted image from the rain.
ReplyDeleteThe insects you feature always look so fascinating, Diane.
Thanks Marie, I really liked that shot, most unusual. Hope that all is well with you. Diane
DeleteSo much wow!
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Sandi. Have a good day Diane
DeleteGreat series of images, Diane, especially the pollinators.
ReplyDeleteThanks David, There were masses of different bees around but so quick!! Hope that all is well with you both. Diane
DeleteToday, I caught a lizard in my mother's bedroom. Fortunately mom's chihuahua had almost caught the five lined skink but only got a tail. Mom somehow moved fast enough to block it's passage from a small table with Daisy eyeing it from the other side. I took a towel and picked it up. We had a laugh in that the small creature had it's mouth open to bite. But I thought of you with your many pictures featuring lizards. I thought of photographing the creature. But I knew he/she was miserable. When I put him on the grass outside my house, it was like he disappeared instantaneously.
ReplyDeleteI am happy it took off straight away. The last one I took out of the house sadly died of fright. I generally just leave them when they are inside but then I do not have and cats or dogs. Glad you saved it. Have a good day Diane
DeleteYou do such nice pics of all the insects and critters you come across. WOW....sounds like you yr is action packed with visitors and traveling yourself.
ReplyDeleteVery action packed to the end of the year! Still masses of photos to edit from 10 days away!! Hope you are feeling better Diane
DeleteBeautiful macros Diane, the blue butterfly is so pretty. I love your rainy shot too, looks almost like a water colour painting, which in a way it is 😉 Hope you are both feeling well these days, have a lovely weekend ✨
ReplyDeleteThanks very much. I was quite taken with that rainy shot the water on the windscreen certainly made it interesting, ye you are right it is a water colour painting. Thanks and I hope you ghave a good weekend as well. Diane
DeleteThose butterflies look so cute, have a lovely weekend ☺
ReplyDeleteThanks Natalia, hope your weekend is a good one also. Diane
DeleteYes, I like the distorted photo too. The photos of the flowers and critters are beautiful. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe distorted photo appears to be quite popular, I almost thought twice about putting it on! Happy weekend to you as well. Diane
DeleteBeautiful as always and that first one is unique and worthy of a prize. Hope all is well your way, Diane!
ReplyDeleteThanks you Pam for your kind comment, I was pretty pleased with that first photo but you are the first person to comment on it ! All going well but just so much to do. Have a great weekend Diane
DeleteWow, that first photo is magnificent. Love to capture sky shots.
ReplyDeleteAh, the second person to comment on the first photo, I was pretty chuffed with it but comments have not been forth coming. The distorted rainy photo has been very popular. Hope you are well. Cheers Diane
DeleteI'm enjoying your fantastic photos. How did you get those butterflies to sit still for a photo? The ones around here never do.
ReplyDeleteAmalia
xo
Amalia they do not sit still for long, you have to be very quick. They can be very frustrating to photograph!! Have a good weekend Diane
DeleteGreat photos as always Diane. I was particularly taken with the artistic shot out the windscreen. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteThanks very much, yes I liked that watery photo, quite different. Hope all is well over there, Diane
DeleteGreat shot of the moon and I like your neighbors roof line. I find Blue Butterflies difficult to photograph, actually all the bugs are way too fast for me. You sure have it down, wherever you travel.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the postcard. Those rock paintings put our natives to shame.
That shot of the moon was one of my better ones, I cannot compete with you when it comes to sky shots. I have far more chance with the bugs that I do with the moon!!
DeleteGlad that the PC arrived. I think all rock paintings are interesting. Have a good week Diane
