Maximum temperature in the Charente today 18C, minimum 10C. Rain measured this morning 3mm but we have a blue sky today. 111mm of rain so far this year. 23km/h South-Westerly wind up to 43 km/h.
I say spring has sprung, but I suspect it might be short-lived as the temperatures drop again in the middle of the week. If the forecast is right though, they then go back up again......

DeleteThe bugs are amazing. glad you are having a mild winter. We are having a hot summer.
ReplyDeleteA very hot one by the sound of it. Glad that you are safe. Take care, t'other Diane
DeleteThose kinds of temperatures seem unreal for January, even for where you live. It is mild here too, 3.5 degrees today. I can't believe this is good, especially if we get a cold snap, which is what should be happening at this time of the year. And people still deny global warming?
ReplyDeleteDavid I feel it can only be global warming, this weather is very unreal. We will have to wait for another couple of months to see what happens. Hope you do not get too much snow! Cheers Diane
DeleteYou have spring! Hope the temp doesn’t go too low again.
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe the weather will stay this way Marie but we can only wait and see. Keep warm Diane
DeleteBeautiful signs of spring in France. Sometimes we get very warm temperatures and signs of spring in February but right now the temperature is more than 4x cooler than yours though today was a nice, sunny day.
ReplyDeletePenny this weather is unbelievable, it is almost too mild to be real. It will be interesting to see what the rest of February does weather wise. Take care and keep well Diane
DeleteWhat lovely flowers! Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda comment appreciated. Enjoy your day Diane
DeleteIt's always exciting to see the first signs of spring, the new buds and first snowdrops.. not so much the flies, they can be such a pain! Looking at your weather details it sounds like the perfect day in Charente, in Perth it's 40C! Am hoping my plants survive the next few days until the temps drop again. My cough seems to have disappeared again, but I have no doubts it will return, it always does, how about yours Diane?
ReplyDeleteGrace I love spring as well but I cannot believe it has arrived already!!!!! We have had such a mild winter it is quite scary. My cough is still around but not as annoying as it was! Hope you have a good day and not get too over heated...... Diane
DeleteHi Diane - love the photos ... that firebug is pretty amazing - are they dangerous? Fairies at the bottom of the garden ... lovely thought - but I'd prefer it to be warmer!! Wonderful to see your pics and to get the garden gossip news - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteHi Hilary, No the bugs are no problem, just as well as we have a lot. They eat by sucking the juices of plants but I have never noticed any damage. I gather some species also feed off animals and other insects - never noticed it.
DeleteLooks like we have some rubbish weather coming up at the weekend but still not desperately cold. Cheers Diane
A natureza realmente é fascinante.
ReplyDeleteFiquei assoberbada por tamanha beleza.
E realismo.

Gorgeous photos! I need to suck it up this year and by a macro lens. I am missing out! Have a lovely week.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with finding a new lens. I do not have a macro lens but I would quite like one. Most of these photos are taken with my zoom lens. Hope you have a good day Diane
DeleteBEAUTIFUL....can't believe that you are still having those type of blooms. We have just started having some blooms but then it turns off cold yet again.
ReplyDeleteI am amazed by the temperatures and particularly the roses. the one bush has flowered all through winter to date. Take care, Diane
DeleteI'm in love with that brave little rose in the first photo. I wonder why she is crying, must be a story there. Fantastic photos, as always!

ReplyDeleteHi Diane! I'm very much enjoying catching up with your blog posts, as I have a little more time on my hands now, with Lindsay being almost fully recovered, and taking up some of the household chores again!
Your shots of your garden flowers and wildlife are beautiful - are you using a macro lens for those close-ups?
I hope thjat your cough cas now passed. My very best wishes to you both - - - Richard
