02/02/2020 Spring has sprung.........

Maximum temperature in the Charente today 18C, minimum 10C. Rain measured this morning 3mm but we have a blue sky today. 111mm of rain so far this year.  23km/h South-Westerly wind up to 43 km/h.

I say spring has sprung, but I suspect it might be short-lived as the temperatures drop again in the middle of the week.  If the forecast is right though, they then go back up again......

Photos were taken today on a walk in the garden.

We have not been without roses at all this year so far - amazing.

Moss and Lichen.

Common Speedwell - A pretty weed.

The first crocus.

Buds on the Red Robin. (Photinia Fraseri).

The first snowdrop. (Galanthus nivalis).

Buds on the Viburnum (Viburnum tinus).

Gendarme beetles or firebug, (Pyrrhocoris apterus).

Fairies a the bottom of the garden... no, I cannot identify it!

In the house, buds on the orchid...

The Christmas poinsettia is still thriving..

16/11/2016 A few random photos only today.

Maximum temperature 14C, minimum 7C.  26 km/h SW wind.  1.5 mm rain measured, but the air was damp all day with a sort of very fine drizzle.
Went for a hair cut today.

Waiting in the car for Nigel who was in the chemist - you can see how wet it was!

Acer seeds, next spring they will be coming up everywhere!

26/11/2015 Scraping the bottom of the barrel for photos today!!! Wet and dismal,

Maximum temperature 10C, minimum 4C. 50 km/h NW wind gusts.   7mm rain not forecast!
There was a patch of blue up there from time to time!

Maximum temperature 9C minimum 3C.  2 mm rain measured this morning.  Rain and hail today, not measured as yet. Frost expected tomorrow morning.
