I walked 8.2 kms on Sunday and yesterday 8.4. So many photos to filter through but here are just a few. All of the insects I saw while out I am still trying to sort out their IDs. Watch this page.
Wild Pyramid Orchid (Anacamptis pyramidalis).
A man at work...
Hay Bales...
Moving hay bales by tractor and trailer.
Cattle resting.
A late lamb, most of them were born much earlier.
Donkey and horse friends.
Over the rooftops of Vitrac.
The church,
A stone wall around the balcony at the top of one of the houses.
The Junior school.
A Private home.
Narrow streets.
Looking down the river from the bridge
The lavoir that was! It is now so overgrown if the ladies had to do their washing there as in the old days, they would have to do a lot of clearing first!
Walking through the forest.
So damp under the trees that the moss grows everywhere,
Two different ferns, dryopteris and possibly Harts-tongue.
View across the fields.
Foxglove...
As above.
Poppies...
As above.
Another derelict building - as we said before if only these walls could talk.
A French favourite - a Citroën 2CV.
Almost home I saw these 3 cyclists that look like they are on a camping holiday - I feel sure are they are supposed to be at home at the present time!!!!!

Country life at its best, masterfully presented for all to enjoy! Loved this post.
ReplyDeleteI could never live in a town, I appreciate the country side far to much. Take care, Diane
DeleteGorgeous images from your walk, Diane. I wish I could have been with you! Sorry about the delay in replying to your ID request - been very busy, but will try and sort something out tomorrow. My very best wishes to you both - - - Richard
ReplyDeleteHi Richard, how I wish you could have joined me as well. I saw many insects but they are for another post. No problem with the delay I was just worried that the email had not arrived. Have a good day and stay safe and healthy, Diane
DeleteHi Diane, there is beauty all around. I'm glad you are able to get out and walk so much and share your lovely photos with us.
ReplyDeletePenny I am delighted that I can now walk further afield, the 1km radius was getting very boring, especially for someone who never gets bored! Keep well and stay safe, Diane
DeleteCountry life is more meaningful and rich with beautiful nature.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right Nancy, nature is more than special. It changes so much over the months as well. Take care and have a good week Diane
DeleteYou really have become a serious walker, Diane. i am sure that you are svelte and lovely, toned, trim, and fit! Bravo!
ReplyDeleteTried walking yesterday with 25C in the shade only managed 6.2!! Most of the walk was in full sun and not much shade. Keep safe Diane
DeleteMany beautiful photo's, Diane! I'm always impressed that you know the names of flowers; and they are lovely.
ReplyDeleteGood for walking; I started but not lately. Wish I had the beauty that you have to walk.
xoxo
Thanks Sally, lots of flowers I do not know names of but I try!! Keep well Diane.
DeleteHi Diane - wonderful route you've taken us on ... and I love knowing who the villagers are ... the school, a private home, an ancient home - with fantastic balcony walls, the farm stock and all the great views and plants ... so so wonderful to see ... take care and enjoy the longer excursions ... Hilary
ReplyDeleteHilary I must have been past that house with the lovely balcony wall a number of times and I only noticed them now!! Most unusual. I am enjoying the freedom, but now it is getting hot to walk unless I go early and I am not the early bird I used to be anymore!! Stay safe, Diane
DeleteOh my gosh you are surrounded by beautiful countryside Diane, wonderful series of images. Over 8 kms each day, that's impressive, you are definitely in the right spot to enjoy those walks. I know your computer network isn't always easy there but can you use YouTube? I am totally addicted to a series called 'The Chateau Diaries'. There seem to be a lot of British couples buying French chateaux, very entertaining to watch their restorations.
ReplyDeleteHi Grace, it is a lovely area and I do enjoy the walks though now it is getting warmer! No we cannot play YouTube but the series is probably the one we originally had on TV. Take care, Diane
DeleteI would love some fabric in that same shade of purple as the first bloom.
ReplyDeleteI agree it is a beautiful colour. I have got very lazy about sewing, no maybe not totally true, it is just very hard to find a shop here that sells materiel at all here. South Africa it was so easy. Take care Diane
DeleteSeems a longer walk than normal. The stonework there just blows me away. River looks high. Flowers are beautiful.
