07/02/2023 Thirteen years of blogging tomorrow !!

I had no intentions of blogging while we were away on holiday but I felt I had to make a small celebration of the date

Flying into Cape Town, South Africa

Ernie Els Winery at Stellenbosch is framed by panoramic views of Cape Town and Table Mountain.

Lunch at Erni Els Restaurant - superb food.

Proteas.

Table Mountain is a flat-topped mountain forming a prominent landmark overlooking the city of Cape Town.

Hartlaub's gull (Chroicocephalus hartlaubii)...

The Cape Gull (Larus dominicanus)

Little egret (Egretta garzetta).

The lighthouse at L'Agulhas. The light was first lit on 1 March 1849.

We are now driving slowly along the garden route.  On the 16th of February, we stay with friends at Kenton on Sea for a couple of weeks before moving on again
I am not very good at ID on Gulls so I hope that I have the above correct. I am happy to be corrected.

  8. Yes, I thought that you weren't blogging while on holiday. Pleased you did though. The gulls are fantastic, the Hartlaub's reminds me of an Audouin's. Enjoy your time and the food.

  9. Congrats on 13years of blogging. You made me check my dates I started at blogger in 2008 but before that Iwas with BLOGSPOT but it died. Well done for making the effort to travel again. We can't be bothered anymore except for local road trips. The scenery, birds and weather are all stunning.
