A few more insects.....

 Maximum temperature here today 22⁰C, minimum 16⁰C.  Raining as I type.   5km/h South Easterly winds with gusts up to 18 km/h.  

Still far behind but I am slowly catching up!

I was a bit late to catch the best of this sunset a couple of nights ago!

Wall Brown (Lasiommata megera) female.

Great potter wasp (Delta unguiculata).

Common potter wasp (Eumenes coarctatus).

Yellow Autumn Crocus or Autumn Daffodil (Sternbergia lutea).

Green stink bug nymph, (Chinavia halaris)...

Small Copper (Lycaena phlaeas)...

As above...

A better specimen of the Small Copper taken the following day.

Bee on the Sedum...

Common Wall Lizard (Podarcis muralis).  I thought it might be smelling the flowers, but I think it is far more likely that it is waiting for an unsuspecting meal.

Common blue butterfly (Polyommatus icarus)...

Yellow Shell moth (Camptogramma bilineata).

Small Dusty Wave moth (Idaea seriata).

This moth I am not sure of!!

Maximum temperature today 21C, minimum 12C.  10 mm of very welcome rain measured this morning.  19km/h North-westerly winds with gusts up to 44 km/h. 

Gatekeeper butterfly (Pyronia tithonus).

Common Wall Lizard (Podarcis Muralis).

I think this is one of the Potter wasps (or mason wasps), (Eumeninae).

A hopper unidentified in the bathroom!!! Probably a cricket but the long antennae are almost invisible. Maybe a mole cricket?

Our first sunflower of the year in the garden...

With a bee and another insect, possibly a different kind of bee (?) that kept trying to bomb the first one.

20/07/2019 Around the garden and out for a drive.

Maximum temperature today 28C, minimum 16C.  4mm very welcome rain last night. 17km/h North-westerly winds with gusts up to 41 km/h.  

Peacock butterfly (Aglais io). Looking a little worn!

Meadow brown (Maniola jurtina).

Small White (Pieris rapae).

Hummingbird hawk-moth (Macroglossum stellatarum).

What I believe to be a honey bee taking a drink, loved the shadow.

Think this is one of the Social wasps taking a drink.

and I believe this to be a Potter wasp but I am not certain.

Climbing rose.

Out on the road - making hay while the sun shines.

The sunflowers seem extra good this year.  The bees seem happy.

The banks of the River Touvre which runs into the Charente River.

Back home the hibiscus is in flower.

The mirabelle plums are looking good.

A collection from the garden yesterday.  Also 2kg of potatoes from 2 plants, still 48 plants to go and the longer I leave them the bigger they will get!
