29/06/2020 Out walking and in the garden.

Maximum temperature here today 21⁰C, minimum 14⁰C. Dry.  15km/h North-Westerly winds with gusts up to 31 km/h.

My apologies for not keeping up with my blogs or yours but we just seem to be extra busy!!!

Looking through the forest.

The track where I was walking.

A hoverfly.

Somebody's insect hotel.

I walked down to the closest dam in the hopes that I might see something of interest.  Not a bird or an insect in sight.  Well, there were some water skimmers on the water but!!!

Back home a rainbow, look closely and you can see the second one.

Plane number F-HCG0 flying over the garden.

The vegetable garden.

Too big for lizard's lunch I suspect but they seemed to be aware of each other.
Hornet (Vespa crabro) and Common Wall Lizard (Podarcis Muralis).

Small stallion seen on a farm on another walk.  He posed perfectly for me!

Red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris).  A protected species and they can range from Red to almost black.

Marbled White (Melanargia galathea).

As above.

Peacock butterfly (Aglais io).

Speckled wood (Pararge aegeria)

Wall brown (Lasiommata megera).

My local list of wildflowers. (82 Species 25/06/2020)

Sheild Bug (Coreus marginatus).

Wasp, possibly a Social wasp.

Common wall lizard (Podarcis muralis).

Black-veined white butterfly, (Aporia crataegi),..

As above...

As above.

Bee.

Farm land ready for planting.

Winter Wheat.

Our house is at the back of these trees.

The lambs are growing.

Calves taking a nap.

The neighbours chicken.

A rare sight these days, the sky used to be full of vapour trails!

My favourite photos of the day, a two-prong Roe deer not taking much notice of me...
Guess that the lack of people and cars around is bringing the wildlife back to our community. 😊

25/02/2019 Trying to catch up..........

Maximum temperature today 20C, minimum 5C.  Dry;  🌞
10km/h South-easterly winds with gusts up to 19 km/h.

Sorry I have not left the planet but just been busy with other things.  Hard not to be outside in this weather.  It looks like it is set in for another few days then the rain arrives (which is not bad), and the temperature drops, but not so that it is freezing.

Out for a drive - the trees are still bare but this weather is bringing on buds, hope they do not all get killed off. There must be another frost this year...

Reflections driving by...

And looking across which may be winter wheat.  Note the wind turbines in the background 😒

When we returned I went out for a walk but the lambs just captivated me and I took lots of photos...
Inquisitive...

At the milk bar...

Now, who is the king of the castle...

Oh, who cares let us play instead...

Run and jump...

Kick up my heels...

Wow that was fun 🐑

A little more subdued and these are a bit older...

Twins maybe?

Mistletoe.

Calves.

Dandelion.

Not sure what this is but it is pretty!

Wild violets.

Neighbours moving a log it seems.

and overhead,

I have updated my bird blog HERE.
