05/05/2018 In the garden today.

Maximum temperature today 23C, minimum 9C.    Dry; 9km/h North Easterly winds with up to 24 km/h gusts.
Our bush has been killed off by chafer larvae eating the roots, the only branch that has survived is this small one with two snowball flowers on it!

The last of the apple blossom.

Bumblebee in the rosemary.

Common lizard,

Medlar (nèfle) blossom. (Mespilus germanica)

Rosemary beetles in love.

Californian poppy.

Cetonia cuprea or aurata.  Not certain which.

Oxythyrea funesta plus ant. The beetles are all munching away on the flowers of the Red Robin.

Trichodes alvearius.

Dog rose.

Irises.

Peony.

Thirty-eight potatoes planted, more to go when we get the other bed ready.

A few photos in the garden and next door!

Maximum temperature today 14C, minimum 4C.    4 mm since the last post; 8 km/h North Westerly winds with up to 27 km/h gusts.
Total rain since 1 January now 474 mm.

Last nights moon, just managed to see it pop out from behind the clouds 😊

Onion flower plus fly.

The bluebells are almost over.

The red robin has lots of flower on it.

Holly flowers, hopefully, red berries soon. Spot the fly!

The neighbour's snowball bush.  Sadly something eat the roots of ours and it is no more!

The back of the house was painted today.  Nigel said he did not want me going up the ladder out here, so we had a young lady come in and paint it for us.  Still lots of work though for us inside.

One of the longhorn beetles came to visit.

26/04/2017 A few rushed photos when the the rain stopped.

Maximum temperature 9C, minimum 0C.  15 kmh NE wind, 29 km/h gusts.  Overcast, cold and light rain.  2mm rain measured this morning.

20/04/2017 Very windy and chilly out. Photos very difficult as everything is blowing all over the place.

Maximum temperature 14C, minimum -3C. 24 kmh NE wind with 39 kmh gusts.  Horrible outside again despite the blue sky. Dry.

07/05/2016 Chasseneuil has a fête.

Why did the pheasant cross the road?
Unexpected and wrong lens, but at least a record of seeing it en route!

We were a bit too early and many of the stalls had not been set up yet.

The main street was closed and all the florists were competing!
