19/07/2018 A few more photos from the week away.

Maximum temperature today 31C, minimum 16C.  Dry; 13 km/h North-westerly winds with up to 26 km/h gusts.

As always I am not certain of my ID, if anyone can help out I am always appreciative.

Driving down to Bergerac there were fields and fields of fruit trees. I only thought of taking a photo when we got near the end!

Ghost sign - Valentine les belles peintures. It seems this was (is?) a type of paint.

Walking through the forest there was a lot of this plant.  I think it maybe broomrape but I am not sure.

Possibly Giant Bellflower.

Blue Featherleg or White-legged Damselfly (Platycnemis pennipes).

I think this may be a skimmer dragonfly but I am not even sure of that!

Think this is same as above!

There were a lot of fish in the dam but what I know about fish types is dangerous, they were quite big.  About 0.6 meter (2 Foot)

Peacock butterfly (Inachis io)

Skippers are a family, Hesperiidae, of the Lepidoptera (moths and butterflies) I am not sure which skipper this is.

Speckled Wood butterfly (Pararge aegeria).

As above.

Just a spider web, but so much work goes into this creation.

10/08/2017 Back in action when our WiFi returned at lunch time today. Much slower than most of you, but we are back to our norm of 0.5.

Maximum temperature 20C, minimum 12C.   14 km/h NW wind with 39 km/h gusts.  6mm rain measured in the last 2 days.  Intermittent rain/sun most of the last couple of days.

Bumble bee in the pumpkin flowers....

The bees seem to like the rotting plums.

There were some brave butterflies out - Red Admiral (Vanessa atalanta)....

Small white (Pieris rapae)...

and my guess is this is the opposite sex to the one above from the play that was going on!

Saw 4 cyclists just as I was leaving home, four bonjours :-)  Luckily it is a quiet road as they have pretty much taken over!!

Common blue male (Polyommatus icarus).

Daisy family plus two flies and a hoverfly.

Hay bales.

Honey suckle.

Marbled white - (Melanargia galathea).

Meadow brown - (Maniola jurtina).

Wonder if a fairy lives here LOL.

Almost black cherries, they looked fabulous.  Ours have been over for at least 4 to 5 weeks!!

20/03/2017 A very wet drive to Girac hospital for Nigel's last knee injection !!

Maximum temperature 17C, minimum 7C.  27km/h NW wind. 2 mm of rain measured this morning.
