17/11/2017 Out to lunch with friends yesterday.

Maximum temperature 9C, minimum 2C.  16 km/h NE winds, 33 km/h gusts. Dry.
The French in Charente are really good each year at cleaning out the roadside ditches.

A farm tractor but the road was wide enough for us both.

Arriving at Roussines.

Ready for lunch. Yes there is a selfie in the mirror at the back 😉

The only photo I remembered to take of the food, we were talking too much!  This was an onion tart starter and was really tasty. This was followed by a chicken casserole, and pudding was tarte tatin.

One of the pictures on the wall.

Driving home past Montemboeuf church.

Yet another tractor, but on yet another fairly wide stretch of road.

N.B.  Because photos are hard to come by in this weather, posts may well be a bit intermittent and not daily!!!!

 Hotel/Restaurant Le Moulin NeufGond-Pontouvre

The Bar.

La Touvre....

As above, not a lot of water at this time of the year....

As above.

Duck was not on the menu!  There were several though swimming around and keeping watch.

Amuse-Bouche,  Lentil veloute and tomato creme.

Starter - I had Joue de boeuf and salade, Nigel had parsnip and sweet potato soup.

05/05/2016 Ascension day holiday today celebrated the French way. Tiling starts on the verandah.

Maximum temperature 24C, minimum 4C,  55 km/h SW winds. Dry.
Californian Poppies growing in the road outside our neighbour.

Sanglier on the spit. (Wild pig)

Taponnat Salle des Fêtes. A new building that was only completed about 18 months ago. Thankfully it is away from the old town.

The Samsung did not do very well today and the only photo worth using was the starter!!!  Melon, tomato and pâté de sanglier.

The French horn players. We had a great meal, but mostly it was a bit too disco like for us and very noisy.  If only they had turned the speakers down a bit!!

The start of tiling our verandah.  We gave up with the first tiler who let us down over a couple of years, we now have a new guy......

As above.

Tonight's sunset.
