The French in Charente are really good each year at cleaning out the roadside ditches.
A farm tractor but the road was wide enough for us both.
Arriving at Roussines.
Ready for lunch. Yes there is a selfie in the mirror at the back 😉
The only photo I remembered to take of the food, we were talking too much! This was an onion tart starter and was really tasty. This was followed by a chicken casserole, and pudding was tarte tatin.
One of the pictures on the wall.
Driving home past Montemboeuf church.
Yet another tractor, but on yet another fairly wide stretch of road.
N.B. Because photos are hard to come by in this weather, posts may well be a bit intermittent and not daily!!!!
The food looks delicious as always, Diane. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteYet another gourmet feast! Ah such is life, huh? You say "lunch with friends" - that's a whole lotta friends!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a fairly nice day for your outing. Isn't nice to go out when it isn't pouring rain? I think we had a bit of sunshine today but I see lots of fresh snow on the mountain top. The tart looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy the food pictures you post even if my stomach rumbles every time. And I love the picture you showed. Scary.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had an awesome day!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit. Yes it was a great day and good company. Have a good week Diane
Delete63 degrees here. Wild blowing really hard, storms moving in later today. But for now me and the critters are enjoying the deck. Looks like a nice day. Never had an onion tart...I will have to look that up and see if I wish to make it. Sounds interesting. Loving the drawing on the wall.
ReplyDeleteOnion tart is delicious so we found out, but that one was particularly good:-) Hope your weather is not too bad, take care Diane.
DeleteHooray for wider roads. Or maybe, for less wide vehicles...
ReplyDeletePerfect use of a mirror! ,-)
Large group of friends... Expats, I imagine.
Delicious looking food, as always.
Art looks quite Picasso-ish. So many symbols... Religious motif... Not my choice in Art, but fascinating still. Makes one wonder, what was in the artist's mind...?
Luna Crone
Luna yes mostly English but it is a group of people who love old cars so we most;y all speak the same language. Not my choice of art either but fascinating to say the least of it. Hope all is well Diane
DeleteGlad you have a lovely time. Hope your weekend goes as well.
ReplyDeleteNot the best weekend Sally I seem to have caught a bug which is making me feel a bit headless. Think it just a cold but I have odd lungs that seem to pick up any bug going so I have to take care. Cheers Diane
DeleteGood food and great company! Have a beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteFabulous company thanks Nancy, enjoy the week Diane
DeleteI guess rural life and tractors on the road go hand in hand. Nothing better than having lunch with friends. That is one advantage of living in France. You can have a French meal everyday.
ReplyDeleteLOL yes French cooking I love but it would be nice to go out and have the odd Asian meal occasionally but it will not happen close to us in the country! I don't think we ever go out without seeing a tractor!! Cheers t'other Diane
DeleteI am glad that you had a great day, Diane. Kisses, my friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mia we did enjoy the day. Hope all is well with you Diane
DeleteThat onion tart looks scrumptious. Love your incidental selfie ;-)
ReplyDeleteThink that was the best onion tart I have ever tasted, and from the comments along the table I think everyone thought much the same. Cheers Diane
DeleteI think you have more tractor obstructions on your roads than we do!!
ReplyDeleteEvery time we go out and, it is are if it is only one!! Cheers Diane
DeleteLooks like a lovely lunch. Enjoy your Sunday.
ReplyDeleteAmalia
