06/10/2017 Oil delivery and around the garden.

Maximum temperature 17C,  minimum 10C.  11 km/h NE wind with 34 km/h gusts. I think there was a shower in the early hours this morning but not enough to measure in the gauge.
The heating oil was delivered this morning...

not much room in our road...

and he cannot get in the gate...

the driver watching the level as the tank fills

The same rose, day six....

and the bud which you can see behind yesterday's rose of day 5.

Today's harvest - butternuts 7.8kg (17.2 lb), pumpkins 13.5 kg (30 lbs)  and squash 1.4 kg (3.2 lbs)  (which was one lone self seeded plant).

Crane fly

I just loved the way the sun was catching the fennel.

Speckled Wood.

Sunset before dinner....

and after dinner, probably about 3/4 of an hour between these two photos.

  1. OK! Details please! :-)

That is a road. Not an alley. Old roads in this country, are very narrow too. But one aspect we used to build for, was a back alley. Which was a delightful thing. :-) And that road, would look like an alley here.

He obviously can't get in your gate. What does he do? What arrangement has been made, to allow oil to be pumped into your homes?

Which is your home, in the picture, where the lovely green gate shows? On the right?

Does he run a long hose, to your house? Where is the tank situated? I don't think that is a cellar.

In my family home, there was a tank, in the cellar. When the house was built, years ago, something held coal, I guess. But when I lived there, it was heating oil, and the truck parked in the road... Ran a long hose, to the side of the house, where there was a place for him, to pump the oil, into the cellar holding tank.

    So, somewhat the same idea!

    The sunset photos are spectacular!

    1. He reverses back out and does not even try to go down the remainder of the road though one can get out at the end. Oil heating is very necessary in winter! Cheers Diane
