22/07/2020 Random photos from the garden

Maximum temperature here today 31⁰C, minimum 19⁰C. Dry.  14km/h North-Easterly winds with gusts up to 31 km/h.

Scarce swallowtail (Iphiclides podalirius)...

Seen in Chasseneuil while out walking - Magnolia (Virginiana-Swamp-Laurel).

Hummingbird hawk-moth (Macroglossum stellatarum).

Silver Washed Fritillary (Argynnis paphia)...

Common Wall Lizard (Podarcis Muralis) this guy went through the hole at the bottom of the door.  It then obviously found a large healthy meal inside.  This caused it to get stuck on its way out as it was too fat!!  This was visiting a friend,  not our door.  All our doors and window are oak.

Poppy (Papaver rhoeas).

Granny Smith - we have 2 trees.

Butternut Squash, I have counted at least 16 under the leaves.

28/08/2018 Anniversary and around the garden.

Maximum temperature today 33C, minimum 16C.  Dry except for a couple of drops of rain late evening that did not even measure in the rain gauge; 9 km/h South-easterly winds with up to 29 km/h gusts. 

Waiting for friends to arrive to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary.  How time does fly when you are having fun!

06/10/2017 Oil delivery and around the garden.

Maximum temperature 17C,  minimum 10C.  11 km/h NE wind with 34 km/h gusts. I think there was a shower in the early hours this morning but not enough to measure in the gauge.
The heating oil was delivered this morning...

Today's harvest - butternuts 7.8kg (17.2 lb), pumpkins 13.5 kg (30 lbs)  and squash 1.4 kg (3.2 lbs)  (which was one lone self seeded plant).

18/09/2017 The sun was shining and a much warmer day :-)

Maximum temperature 18C,  minimum 8C.  7 km/h SW wind with 24 km/h gusts. 4 mm of rain yesterday and overnight. 
Bumble bee on the lavender.
