Seen in Chasseneuil while out walking - Magnolia (Virginiana-Swamp-Laurel).

Hummingbird hawk-moth (Macroglossum stellatarum).

Silver Washed Fritillary (Argynnis paphia)...

Common Wall Lizard (Podarcis Muralis) this guy went through the hole at the bottom of the door.  It then obviously found a large healthy meal inside.  This caused it to get stuck on its way out as it was too fat!!  This was visiting a friend,  not our door.  All our doors and window are oak.

Poppy (Papaver rhoeas).

Granny Smith - we have 2 trees.

Mirabelle plums - 4 trees.

Broad Bordered bee Hawk-moth (Hemaris fuciformis)...

Butternut Squash, I have counted at least 16 under the leaves.

Haricot beans.

Beetle Longhorn 8Spot Hornet  Beetle (Leptura  aurulenta).

20/07/2018 A few photos from the garden.

Maximum temperature today 27C, minimum 16C.  Dry; 16 km/h North-westerly winds with up to 37 km/h gusts.

Poppies...

As above with a bumble bee.

Calendula.

Nasturtium.

Rosebud.

Grasshopper.

Good looking guy.

Last but not least; haricot vert from the garden.  I suspect we are both going to look like a bean quite soon judging by the number of beans appearing!

30/07/2017 A few emergency photos late in the garden

Maximum temperature 25, minimum 16C.   11 km/h NW winds with 19 km/h gusts. Not enough rain in the gauge to measure.

Over 600 mirabelle plums de-stoned and in the dehydrator - good reason to be short on time even with Nigel's help.

I had one shot at this little spider and it disappeared...

as you can see on the zinnia here!

Raspberries.

Bee on the clover....

and taking a drink.

Choisya ternata.

Calendula and I think a member of the bee family maybe.

Think this is simply a garden spider - on the rose bush.

Haricot Bean flowers.

Possibly an edible mushroom but I would need it checked first!!!!

Last but not least a rose bud.

24/07/2017 A few quick shots in the morning, we have been in Angouleme all afternoon and nowhere where I could take photos!

Maximum temperature 24C, minimum 15C.   24 km/h NW winds with 39 km/h gusts. 13 mm rain measured this morning.

Calendula and bee.

Gatekeeper female -she seems to have a little wing damage....

Finally in the veg garden - Haricot beans in the front, chard left back, carrots far right back and if you look carefully, you can see the fern from the fennel between the carrots and haricot....

Spring onions in the front and more carrots behind....

and under all this green are some excellent parsnips.

Sunflowers by the side of the road en route to Angouleme.
