The blackbird came to my rescue with photos, I missed the bath but caught up with his toiletries and preening afterwards...

That feels much better. European blackbird (Turdus merula).
The cotoneaster looking quite Christmassy.
Viburnam
Zinnia with pampas fluff which is all over the garden!!
First fire this winter today :-)
A pale sunset...
and looking over my shoulder the moon was just over the neighbour's barn. Taken with my little pocket Samsung camera.
So glad you shared this pretty blackbird. He's a beauty! Your fire looks very inviting and all your photos are a pleasure to see. Thanks Diane and enjoy the rest of your week :)
ReplyDeleteThe fire was on again today Denise, tomorrow though the forecast is threatening us with warmer temperatures again :-)) stay safe, Diane
DeleteAhhhhh, First Fire! A time for Celebration. :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely Lady Moon... We will have the Full Frost Moon, this Saturday.
Yes, I feel like commenting! My dental surgeon is magic! Quite appropriate, on Halloween/Samhain!

Glad to hear that you have a great dental surgeon, sounds like good news. Fire on again today :-)) Keep well Diane
DeleteYou catch such beautiful bird photos, Diane. Love them!
ReplyDeleteI could watch the birds all day sadly I have many other things to do!!! Keep well Diane
DeleteHave a great month, Diane. Enjoy the fire! Beautiful photos of your garden once again! I love the adorable black bird! Kisses, my friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mia, the birds are such fun to watch and there are many around now it is getting colder. Have a good day, Diane
DeleteGreat sky shots! The first pic of the blackbird looks as though he is camera shy and hiding from you ;-)
ReplyDeleteLOL perhaps he was doing just that. They often look over their shoulder at me, sure they are checking the same as they often look upwards where I am sure they are looking for hawks!! Cheers, Diane
DeleteGreat shots of the Blackbird - a handsome bird indeed.
ReplyDeleteThe male is quite spectacular but the female is also handsome in her own way. Cheers Diane
DeleteSuch lovely photos, Diane! You really caught the blackbird well. We have viburnum but it rarely ever has blooms; if we do they aren't as big and lovely as yours. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy November, this year is flying by.
xoxo
We have two bushes the same as well as the snowball bush. The later is not doing well, (something eating the roots!) but the other two are in flower several times a year!!! You are right the year has just vanished once again. We will soon be away for Xmas but more of that to follow. Take care Diane
DeleteHello Diane. The weather's cooling off up north and getting hotter down south. At least the sun is back and the rain gone for a while. The blackbird looks a little like the Indian Mynah's that are so numerous in Durban. Are they as noisy and bossy as mynahs? Kim
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, No not noisy at all they have a wonderful singing voice. They do chase the small birds but, they are not as bossy as the mynah.
DeleteGlad that you are drying out a but but yes I know how hot Durban can get. The heat is great but the humidity is what I cannot take. Have a good weekend Diane
That bird put on quite the show. Although I don't like cold any more than you I'll bet the fire felt fine.
ReplyDeleteLove that fire and it is even better this year. We have discovered stove top fans ! One on top of the fire casing, and as the fire heats up the fan gets faster and faster sending all the hot air out into the room :-))))) All run by the heat of the fire. Take care Diane
