29/10/2018 A few photos taken at the end of last week.

Maximum temperature today 7C, minimum 4C.  12mm rain measured this morning; 15km/h North-Westerly winds with up to 40 km/h gusts.

Out walking I saw this little chap who made sure that I would not get to close!...

European robin (Erithacus rubecula),

Small Copper Butterfly (Lycaena phlaeas).

Beautiful countryside to walk through...

even though someone had their beady eyes on me πŸ˜‰

Geraniums outside someone's house.

I think this is Old man’s beard (Clematis vitalba) quite a lot of it growing in and around the hedges.

There was a lot of plane activity, guess they were getting out while the weather was still clear...

and another small one...

while higher up this passenger plane was leaving a trail.

An oak being strangled by ivy!

I love these leafy tunnels.

Probably the last of the bumblebees this year.  Getting too chilly for them.

Last but not least this little fellow was seen in a field just down the road from us.  He must be all of 10 hands high as he only came up to between my knee and hip.   He was almost as wide as he was high but I just wanted to bring him home 😊😊

There is a short update on my bird blog HERE

  5. You did it again, Diane! Cosmos, my fave garden flower, great shot, it's so pretty and delicate looking. Love the cow and field shot and the airplanes are great too---beautiful blue sunny sky, but not the old man's beard so much, kind of weird looking. Your photos are great as always. Have a wonderful week!

    1. Pam I also love cosmos, they are such wonderful memories of Southern Africa where they grow in masses along the sides of the road. I started blogging in 2012 so you are a few years ahead of me, but I think I must of been following you as long as I have been blogging. Happy week Diane

  13. What a delightful range of subjects and images, Diane. Our temperatures plummeted a couple of nights ago too and we woke to some amazing frost patterns on the roofs of our cars. Might even do a short blog post on this!

Take good care, and enjoy the rest of your week - - - Richard

    1. We have yet to have frost but it is cold, wet and grey, I hate it!!

The diary is very random and what I see during the day (sometimes nowadays as I am short of time, over a couple of days or more!). I always try to add in some wildlife, be it insect or bird but that does not always happen either.

Hope all is well, best wishes Diane.
