11/05/2019 The green green trees of France......

Maximum temperature today 17C, minimum 10C.  Odd showers on and off; rain measured this morning 1mm.  21km/h North-westerly winds with gusts up to 45 km/h.

Drive by photos so a little blurred but I just loved all the trees that are so green now.

Roses to the right driving through Saint-Mary.

Driveway to a friend...

Lots of green,,.

Large chestnut tree at the house...

full of flower...

so pretty...

and a little closer.  It is a very complex flower.

Returning back home...
House centipede. (Scutigera coleoptrata) They are welcome in our home as they eat spiders and other unwelcome bugs

Tulips that I bought 30 April I cannot believe how well they have lasted.

In the garden, I spotted this Scarce Swallowtail butterfly (Iphiclides podalirius)...

As above...

 As above...

And yes as above, finally.

I will be away next week for 10 days and out of WiFi contact. I hope to return with some good photos, but who knows. We are returning to a spot we know, but I found last year that I did well with insects but not with birds!!

    1. I purposely did not take photos of their house (huge), and the cottage (as big as our house), and their own chapel which is being restored, sigh. They are house agents, but he is also a magical mechanic and has just saved us a lot of money. Such nice people. Have a good Sunday Diane

    1. Sandi when I first moved here those centipedes gave me the heebie jeebies, but I have learnt to live with them because they remove so many other things that I hate. They are harmless to us, after a while they even start to look quite nice 😊 Take care Diane

  4. I feel so at home near trees. Especially if they are near a body of water. These are lovely.

    1. I agree water and trees are the best part of nature, until man ruins them! They are doing a good job of wrecking nature in so many ways! Hope all is well with you. Diane

  5. I love trees. Your ones there in France are beautifully green. The butterflies and other critters seem to be thriving though I know that times are very hard for them. It's good that some try to bring back certain insect and wildlife with their plants. Have a wonderful weekend.

  17. So beautiful and green. Are your friends French or English. How does the Brexit Circus effect you?

    1. Those particular fiends are English but in general we do not have many English friends. Brexit could be a huge problem for us, but until we know the deal or no deal we have no idea what problems. We have a 10 year residence for France which is easily renewed, but medical is quite another thing as we have an EU health card issued by the UK!! Only time will tell. Keep well t'other Diane
