23/10/2021 Almost a month since my last blog.........

The maximum temperature here today is 16⁰C, minimum 4⁰C. Sunny and blue skies. Wind 13km/h chilly North-Easterly winds with gusts up to 29 km/h!

As winter approaches I might be able to catch up with all the photos I have taken and not managed to do anything with........ in the meantime some photos still from September.

24-09-2021 the moon going down early in the morning.

Western Whip Snake (Hierophis  viridiflavus)...

I opened the back door to find this dear little fellow (about 45 cms long -  18inches) heading straight for the open door,  I shot in to grab the camera and by that time it was nearly in the door, I managed to head it off in the other direction but it was not really happy about my ideas.   It finally went and hid under the garden table so I left it to sort itself out and find a better place to go,..

I guess that it thought the house may be a little warmer to hibernate in!!...

22/01/2019 Cars, Bath and around Devizes

Saw this Morris Minot in the car park the other day.  Having owned one in recent years I still have a soft spot for this icon of the car world.

The Paragon in Bath.  My grandparents used to live here in the 1940's.  They actually lived in two of the houses here at different times but I cannot now remember the numbers.

Love the Minor but the Porsche is still our favourite.

On the bridge over the canal.

An energetic rower,  I guess the upper half is keeping warm. Just wondering how cold the feet maybe!

Devizes cemetery...

Gorgeous old building.  There are various dates for the opening here but it dates from the mid-1800's

A drive-by sunset.

Back at the canal...

A working narrowboat.

Dogs meeting, owners invited.

A watering point, and I presume originally a drinking trough.

Out for a walk away from the dogs 😊

One of my FIL's ex-carers took pity on us all and arrived with this lovely bouquet of flowers. Thanks George much appreciated.

Devizes is a truly historic town and so full of history.  I try not to put too much information on the photodiary, so I have posted more about the town (part 2) on My Life In the Charente 2 with lots more information which might interest many of you.

We return home at the end of the month and I am not sure when I will have time for another post but will probably see you in February.

I love driving through the forest areas.  The sky was blue, but not this blue, the tinted windscreen again!!

Lots of obstructions on the roads, but we missed a photo of the biggest vehicle as we were busy watching we did not end up in a ditch!...
