20/01/2022 Three weeks since my last post - I must do better !

The maximum temperature here today is 7⁰C, minimum 2⁰C. Blue skies but with quite a lot of clouds. Wind 15km/h North-Easterly winds with gusts up to 33 km/h.  4mm of rain was measured this morning.  We have had a very chilly week, today thankfully it is a bit warmer.

The final photos from September

Maximum temperature here today 19⁰C, minimum 13⁰C.  Dry at the moment.  Since the end of September we have though measured just over 100 mm of rain!! 12km/h South-westerly winds with gusts up to 28 km/h.

A number of people who normally comment seem to have missed my last post.  Maybe because the last two started off with sunsets it caused confusion and it was thought to be the same post!

Autumn daffodils (Sternbergia lutea).

I am often asked what lens I use for my photos.  I do not have a macro lens and all above photos are taken using a TAMRON Megazoom - 18-400 mm on my Nikon D3500 camera.  I have a Nikon Fitting but they also make the same lens with a Canon fitting.

20/01/2020 Back home in the Charente.

Maximum temperature in the Charente today 7C, minimum 0C. Dry today, but 31mm of rain so far this month.  26km/h North-Easterly wind, with very icy gusts up to 57 km/h.

I still have many South African photos to work my way through but I have been feeling very down this week and have got far behind with everything.  Think I caught a bug at a meeting Saturday before last.  The meeting was held by the mayor and over 200 people attended, many of who were coughing!!!  I am now feeling a bit better but the cough is back as usual when I pick these bugs up.  I will get back to RSA photos very soon.

New Year's Day.  Moss.

04 Jan.  Raspberries - not very big, but what are they doing bearing fruit in January?  The weather has been pretty mild but......

08 Jan, Orchids at the local supermarket.

14 Jan. Another January surprise - Roses still in bloom.

13 Jan.  Pampas grass.

14 Jan.  Lawn daisies, I suspect we do not generally have them in January but I am not sure.

14 Jan.  A sunset that looked much like a firework display.  Much quieter though!!

16 Jan.  A macro of the Pampas grass.

18 Jan. Catkins on the hazelnut tree.

18 Jan.  Still we have roses!!!

18 Jan, Christmas poinsettia still doing well in the house.

Today's visitor on the window sill. Eurasian blue tit (Cyanistes caeruleus) .

21/10/2018 Trying to catch up but it will be slow!!!!

Maximum temperature today 21C, minimum 9C.  Dry; 16km/h North-easterly winds with up to 36 km/h gusts.  It gets much colder tomorrow!!!!

I have the computer back with a new hard drive, but I am still trying to load programmes and get myself back to (sort of) where I was before the last hard drive crashed out totally leaving me with nothing.  I have lost all the early October photos which I had not backed up!  Also, all the photos of our holiday last month that I had edited are gone, but I have the originals so I will have to start all over again (sigh).  I will get back to comments I hope in a few days!
